BATHROOM REDESIGN IN SOUTH LONDON
It may be difficult to decide between bath or shower room when you have
just one bathroom. In one of our latest project we tried to find compromise between those two. If you like the minimalism and look of modern shower rooms but still don’t want to give up your bath time; here are some ideas to still.
We had small bathroom divided into two parts with standard square bath, washbasin and radiator in bigger part; toilet and bathroom cabinet were situated in smaller part.
The ceiling was very low what made the bathroom looks even smaller.
Client decided to have corner bath with 3 outlet mixer on the wall and rain shower instead of creating the typical wet room. To fit the corner bath we had to extend the room 60cm. The layout of bathroom units was changed completely except the toilet.
As the corner bath was going to be fit in the front wall of the bathroom we had to move washbasin and radiator to the opposite sides.

There were only two small ceiling lights. The lighting is very important to create a nice atmosphere in the bathroom and the same time to provide good light so our client decided to have spotlights in the ceiling. An extra light was integrated with the mirror cabinet above the washbasin. All installed spotlight in the bath area are waterproof and suitable
for bathroom first zone. It is important to check if your bathroom lights are right
and meet the regulations for you own safety.
The ceiling in both part was risen what made the whole room even bigger.
Corner baths come in all sorts of shapes and sizes; from the extravagantly large corner baths to the cunning space-saving corner baths and some of our corner baths even offer the option of a bath shower screen for a really versatile bathing space.
There are some occasions when a corner bath will work well in a small bathroom, but usually they will take up more floor space and offer less lying down space than a standard straight bath.

Plumbing works in this bathroom included plumbing of: a corner bath, thermostatic valve with 3 controls, wall mounted fixed shower head, washbasin with wall mounted taps, towel rail, wall hang toilet and washing machine.
After finishing all preparation works and plumbing we could start the tiling.
For small bathroom big tiles is good choice. Big, natural Travertine tiles were chosen
for this project. Travertine stone is soft and delicate to look at. The feeling is peaceful and serene. Travertine colours vary from the softest ivories to the palest creams, rich shades of golden honey to earthy browns. Travertine never appears as one solid colour. The colour tones vary and veins of contrasting colour run throughout the stone. No two stones are alike.
Travertine tiles are a very dense form of Calcium Carbonate. The characteristic voids in this material were caused by gases present when the rock was in the molten state. These voids appear as holes in the tiles and are either filled during the fixing process or at the factory.
FILLED OR UNFILLED
Factory tiles that are honed and filled are usually more expensive. As with all things quality can vary dramatically as Travertines are often graded into quality groups such as premium and 2nd choice.
We have created the shelf around the corner bath. Tiling done by Mogio is always done to the highest standard. All tiles on the tiled edges are cut to 90 degrees which makes bathroom looks very clean and neat . Bath panel build and tiled with access left to the plumbing under the bath.

Washbasin was moved to the opposite side and installed on the wooden worktop.
Washbasin looks very nice and clean with wall mounted mixer tap and chrome trap.
Mirrored cabinet with integrated light was installed above the sink. The cabinet provides an extra storage space so you can avoid cluttered worktop.
Washing machine was moved to the bathroom and installed opposite the toilet.
This is a great use of extra space in the bathroom especially in small flats.
To get maximum of the bathroom space we designed and created the built in storage above the washing machine. The bathroom cabinet was made of oaf wood which was stained walnut color and varnished with satin varnish. The door added the final finish
and very modern look to the whole bathroom. The space in the cabinet was divided into one narrow but high space on the left where iron board can easily fit, and two wide shelves on the right where enough space to keep the laundry and necessary bathroom equipment is.
