Plumbing emergencies happen all the time.I remember one weekend I took a phone call and I hear water hitting the floor. And I said the gentlemen on the phone, do you know how to shut off your water mains? And he said well you know I really don’t know how to do it. So I walked him thought to shut off his water mains. So there is one piece of advice I have to give somebody is that when the water hitting the floor it’s panic mode and you are not thinking. When water keeps on running, panic sets in. So know how to shut before it’s an emergency and make sure that everyone knows; said Mark one of our plumber W1 London.

Just in case you have question about this patch, this is not back side regular plasterboard. This is special board, water resistant like to green plasterboard for bathrooms. This is not regular piece of plasterboard.
If you see it’s kind of dark patches, means it’s still slightly wet. Finish patch in middle all the way around, probably you’re never going to see it, but to make that patch look better you might want to fill the whole area in with quick set material.
Wipe off your trowel after each pull, take a look at the whole patch to see if there’s any other spots that need to be done, reposition your ladder if needed.
If you feel you need to do more work on that patch before you get to the next step, do it. Because you didn’t want to have to think later I wish I would have put a little more on, I wish I would have done that. It only took few more minutes do what you have to do. If you have to repeat layer of patch do it to feel happy how patch is going to come out. Next step is to sand down the areas needed and prepare for paint.
